Fees
Most clients are pleased to discover they have coverage for a psychologist through their extended medical plans. All of our psychologists are licensed at the doctoral level with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology, and are listed service-providers with Blue Cross and other selected agencies.
Fees
The fee for individual therapy is $225 per hour. We accept cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard and etransfer. Fees not paid by insurance are tax-deductible as medical expenses. We require 48 business-hours’ notice for cancellation without charge. Monday appointments must be cancelled by noon on Thursday.
The fee for couples and family therapy is $235 per hour. We accept cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard and e-transfer. Fees not paid by insurance are tax-deductible as medical expenses. The fees for assessments and court vary depending upon the type.
Neuropsychological assessments include an interview, a full day of testing, a file review, the provision of a written report with recommendations, and a follow-up review with clients.
Legal assessment and consultation fees are arranged prior to commencing work.
When our psychologists or staff are requested or subpoenaed to appear in Court, clients are responsible for the current fee rate, plus costs. Changes or cancellations for time reserved are needed two weeks in advance. The fee for time reserved but not used for Court is invoiced.
Insurance
Receipts may be submitted to insurers for reimbursement if you have coverage for a registered psychologist. Receipts must indicate when appointments have been missed, and insurers do not reimburse missed appointments.
We recommend asking your insurer the following before booking with a psychologist
Does my plan cover the services of a Registered Psychologist?
How much coverage do I have per year?
Is that per calendar year or per 12-month period?
Do you cover 100% of the amount or do I have to pay a portion of each visit?
Is there a deductible amount that I have to pay before I qualify for reimbursement?
Do I require a physician’s referral to qualify for my insurance coverage?
How do I submit my claim for reimbursement?
